Indiana Dunes Great
Banquet |
|
Tom Kuznicki died Monday, November 30, 2009…he attended IDGB # 53 and served on several more teams. Please pray for his wife, Carol and his two children as they endure this time of grief.
Tom's funeral will be on Wednesday at 11am at First
Christian Church in Valparaiso.
The
church is located at 1507 Glendale Blvd. in Valparaiso. Because Tom had embraced the Great Banquet so, Carol has decided to make that a big part of the service. She has decided on a number of Great Banquet songs, as it had become such an important part of their lives. There will be a luncheon served right after the service. They have decided to scatter Tom's ashes in Hawaii, as that is what Tom wanted. Tom's and Carol's son lives there with his wife and Tom really loved Hawaii, when they visited. |

From Mark Robison........ Joys, Concerns and Sorrows.
I thought I would pass along to the
community a few things that have come to my attention regarding
various community members that many of you may know.
I recently learned that Betty Wray, who
was a guest at IDGB #58 this past fall, passed away on January
10th. Sonia Fabbri commented to me that, "I
know how much her weekend as a guest meant to her and I know she
carried the love of Christ she was shown by the IDGB community with
her these months since." Please keep Betty's family and friends as
well as her tablemates and new friends she met during her weekend in
your prayers.
Cece McAgy wrote to pass along some
surprising information regarding Julie Wilmoth. Julie and her
husband Ed are both snow birds who head south for the winter.
Many of you may recognize them as the couple who come in on
Saturday mornings, during a banquet weekend, and help in the
kitchen most of the day up until Candlelight, offering to do
much of the grunt or dirty work. They are viewed as angels by
the kitchen team. Please keep Julie Ed, and Julie's physicians
attending to her in your prayers. Cece wanted to pass along
this information to those who may know Julie & Ed, "Julie
is very ill with cancer and is hospitalized in Yuma, AZ. It's
been a very difficult time as we wait for test results and
treatment plans. Attached is a website that Ed has posted
information on and that family and friends may post their
regards to. It's a terrific tool for keeping up to date with
everyone. Please feel free to pass it along to whomever you
think would appreciate the information.
www.caringbridge.org/visit/juliewilmoth
Some of you have asked for their mailing address: 650 S. Ave
B #88, Yuma, AZ 85364
I will be flying out this week and will pass along all of
the good wishes and prayers. Thanks for all the support."
On a happier note, I was excited to open my email today and
pick up the news that Rob Adlard proposed, finally, to Corie
Snyder last Thursday! (She said 'yes' in case you were
wondering. haha) Many of you may know this young vibrant
couple as they have worked on numerous men's and women's
teams over the past couple of years and most recently worked
the Awakening this past fall. Rob commented to me in his
email that the Great Banquet/Awakening community is an
important part of their lives and he wanted to share this
joyous new with the community. If you have been on team
with these guys or you attend Westminster Presbyterian
Church, be sure to pass along your congratulations!

From Mark Robison........ Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The 72-hour prayer chart needs our attention. As of now,
there are still 108 half-hour prayer slots open. This is so
important to show our guests that they are being prayed over
and loved by so many who don't even know them. We need to
show our guests a full 72-hour prayer chart. And prayer is
what drives this ministry thru Jesus Christ.
Please contact and email those you know that may consider
praying for our guests. God bless you and those who pray
for the men we all will serve.
- go to prayer vigil and scroll down to Westville and sign on. - or just hit this website http://www.3dayol.org/Vigil/GetVigil.phtml?pvid=2916&commid=1088
And we still need more placemats, hands, posters, and
"green" agape. There are so many of God's people that want
to serve in any way they can. They just need to be aware of
the need.
Agape Love is a powerful thing. I felt it at my 72-hour
weekend. His love moves mountains.
Chris

Greetings IDGB Community,
I hope this email finds all of you well
and about to enjoy one of God's beautiful autumn weekends! We just
finished the fall banquet weekends and we planted and renewed 36
seedlings. It will be interesting to see how the Holy Spirit takes
these seedlings and how and where they will grow.
As is my custom, I announced the men's &
women's lay directors for the next springs banquets at the closing
ceremonies of the men's and women's weekend and I wanted to share
this with all of you.
Tom Stewart will be leading the men at
#59 in April and Mary Pawlicki will be leading the women at #60 the
following weekend. Both Tom and Mary have served on numerous teams
and have contributed a great deal to many IDGB weekends. Please
join with me in congratulating them on their assignments and please
keep them in your prayers over the coming months as they work to
assemble their respective teams to set out to do God's work.

From Mark Robison........ Dear fellow IDGB Community members,
I have some mixed news that I thought
you would want to know.
Sadly, our good friend and Awakening
Community Spiritual Director and long time spiritual support of the
IDGB Community, Nancy Kahaian, will be moving out of the area in the
very early part of August. She has resigned as pastor of First
Presbyterian Church, Michigan City, and as the Community Spiritual
Director for the Awakening.
The great news is Nancy will become the
Interim Synod Executive for the Synod of Mid-America, based in
Kansas City where she will take a new direction in her ministry.
She asked me to relate to all of you that, "In the past several
years, it has been the members of the Indiana Dunes Great Banquet
Community who have beautifully and wonderfully incarnated the love
of God in my life. I wish dozens of IDGB'ers could know how deeply
and profoundly their cards, letters, and acts of kindness have
sustained my life. One of the most painful realities of my
departure from Indiana is leaving the IDGB Community. I thank God
for all of you."
Her comments make me feel like we do a
good job at being disciples for Christ in reinvigorating and
sustaining the pastoral community as they go about their ministry on
a daily basis while juggling spiritual and work related needs in
regards to their families and personal lives.
Nancy also stated, "It would mean
very much to me if members of the IDGB Community could be here in
Michigan City for my last Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 9:45 am. I know
we all have a spiritual home/congregation we are a part of, but if a
few of you could sneak away for one Sunday......it would mean so
very much to me because we are brothers and sisters together."
I hope that if you can make it, you
would go up and worship with Nancy on her final Sunday at Michigan
City as she leads her last worship service in this area for the
foreseeable future.
We have been truly blessed to have been
a part of her ministry here over the past years!
