Dave Narish, who attended the Men's Banquet #67, has broken his hip in a biking accident. Please pray for a steady recovery for him. He is otherwise in good health, but he is discouraged, in some pain, and a bit lonely, waiting for the hip to heal. If you know Dave, please reach out to him and keep him in your prayers.Thank you.

  From Elise Cummins.......

Please pray for Kathy and Corlin Stein. Kathy was admitted to St Anthony Hospital through ER last Sat (July 9th) evening. She is still in the hospital with attrial fib(fast irregular heartbeat). Her heart beat is better as of last night but I'm sure they could use prayers. As many of you know they are still going through the horrible process of bringing her mother's murderer to sentencing. (which is ongoing for almost 4 years) So prayers for that process and them as well.

  From Mike Zimmer...........

I have received some terrible news from Art Castaneda.  Art ( IDGB #55 ) and Carol ( IDGB #56 ) have suffered the death of another child.

Many have been moved by Art's story of the loss of their son Michael during Art's Kairos weekend talks.  Art and Carol have now lost
Erica.  Erica had recently started a new life in San Diego.

May we all uphold Art and Carol in prayer.

Jeri Kris suffered a house fire yesterday morning.  Th fire started in the kitchen and it was destroyed.  She lost her dog and cat in the fire, but none of the rest of the family were injured.  The rest of the house has smoke damage, so they will be out of the house for some time.  Please post this on the website and ask for prayers and for those who know Jeri to reach out to her.

  From Betsy Kastak...........

Dear sisters and brothers in Christ...I received this email today from Ed Wilmoth....

"Julie went into the hospital over a week ago with pneumonia. Saturday afternoon, Julie took a turn for the worse and was taken into ICU. The cancer has generated too much fluid and the treatments would not produce any healing results so it was decided to move Julie into hospice. Julie will be coming home tomorrow morning to be taken care of by the family. She is unresponsive and unable to speak. The family is requesting no phone calls or visitors at this time.  Your support and prayers are greatly appreciated."

for those who would like to post a message to Ed, please do do by clicking on the following link:   http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/juliewilmoth1/guestbook

  From Linda Fortin.............

First of all a prayer of thanks Karen Comstock is truly a miracle. She is recovering from her brain surgery, is home and undergoing therapy, will have the "flap" on her skull reattached some time this week and will be able to go back to work. Her doctors call her their miracle patient. She tells them that it is the power of prayer that has helped her recover.

Then I am asking prayers for James Daum (ED. IDGB 53) who attended the banquet about 3 years ago. He has cancer in the throat area and is starting treatment this week.

Update received 08/05/2010

Debbie Nicholson of IDBG#64 has been taken out of ICU and moved to a general room. She is now being visited by Hospice but remains unconscious. Your continued prayers for her and her family would be greatly appreciated.

Updated received 07/10/2010

Since the day after IDGB #64 Debbie has been in a struggle for life we have all heard about or experienced before.

This last week she was at Rush in Chicago but has become so week that they have had to cease her treatments.

Debbie has placed all of her faith in God and looks forward to what ever He has planned for her.

While she is too week to accept calls she clearly is ready to receive the benefit of all of our prayers.

Updated received 05/18/2010

While, like many before her, Debbie Nicholson (IDGB # 64) is just beginning down the path of initial surgery, treatment and long term recovery…the results of last weeks exhaustive testing is that her problem is localized and therefore offers much hope for short term recovery and long term health.

Debbie knows of the outpouring of love from this community and that the timing of her attending #64 just a couple of weeks ago was no coincidence.

It will likely be many weeks before she can deal with any form of direct contact but continued prayer for her during this very difficult time is what she is relying on the most.

DeColores!

Debbie Nicholson who has just attended the banquet is having emergency surgery today (05/05/2010).

Please say a prayer for her successful surgery and a quick and lasting recovery

Warmest regards,

  From Matt Soliday.......

Calling all prayer warriors!

My stepson Ty is 14 years old and was diagnosed with epilepsy approximately 3 years ago.  Since that time, Ty's seizures have not been able to be controlled.  Therefore, Ty's doctors have decided to try surgery to control the seizures.

Re
cently, Ty has undergone the first stage of surgery to see if he will be able to be cured.  The first surgery was on January 13th, 2009.  During that surgery, the doctors removed part of Ty's skull and attached EEG leads to his brain.  Ty's anti-seizure medication has been stopped and his seizures are going to be induced so the doctors will know exactly where the seizures are coming from.  They will then "Map" the vital areas of the brain and then determine if they can remove the area where the seizures are coming from.

If the doctors can remove the area of the brain without there being any major problems th
ey will perform the second surgery on January 20th.  However, if it is determined that there is too great of a risk, the surgery will not be performed.
You can follow his healing at www.caringbridge.org and type in tybalon. Please pray for him.

  From Betsy Kastak..........

Dear Friends,

Please keep Dian and her family in your prayers as they have suffered two major losses since Thanksgiving. Dian’s brother Larry Spitz died yesterday morning from a cardiac arrest in the Minneapolis suburb of Fridley. He was helping a neighbor start a car and collapsed.

The family also lost Glenn, her mother's companion of 12 years, who passed away the Monday after Thanksgiving at the age of 91. Larry and mom were with him the night before, having a beer and playing scrabble.

Dian’s mother is coming up to Chicago from Arkansas today and the family is gathering to make funeral arrangements. Larry lived in Minneapolis for the past 15 years so they will likely travel up there to have a service with  immediate family and Larry's friends.

Larry was 62, the twin of Dian’s sister Mary who died about two years ago. He was a very unique individual living in Minnesota doing projects for his neighbors, mostly the elderly, as a handyman. He loved people (his ability to talk to anyone, especially strangers, was amazing), and its not surprising that he was helping out a neighbor at the time of his death. Dian’s sister Pam talked with his landlord who spoke of how Larry was loved and will be missed by all the people in the neighborhood he helped.

He will be missed by the whole family.

If you would like to send a card to Dian’s mother, she will be in the Chicago area over the holidays spending part of her time with Dian and back in Arkansas around the first of the year.
